It’s Dangerous to Go Alone 🗡️✨
Indie comics survive because we don’t do this alone.
Hi there!
I wanted to circle back to the Zelda Awards because this moment still feels very unreal.
Sacrimony has been nominated for:
Best Fantasy Webcomic
Best Series
Best Writer
Being included in the very first year of the Zelda Awards, an initiative created to spotlight female and nonbinary creators in comics (especially those who get overlooked by the more “mainstream” indie industry), is such an honor. Recognition like this doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It happens because people read the work, connect with it, talk about it, and care enough to support it.
So before anything else: thank you.
Truly. You helped get me here.
Every time you’ve backed a Kickstarter, shared a post, recommended the comic to a friend, replied to a newsletter, or simply kept reading, you’ve helped keep Sacrimony alive long enough to reach moments like this.
And now I’m going to ask for your help again.
Because here’s the reality: making this comic is a one-person operation. I do the penciling, inking, coloring, lettering, marketing, crowdfunding, packing, shipping… every part of it. I don’t have a big publisher behind me, I don’t have a marketing team, publicist, or editorial department amplifying the work and there’s no art team spreading the load.
It’s just me.
And there’s only so much I can do on my own to convince total strangers that the story I made is worth their time. I believe in it deeply, but I’m also very aware that I’m probably the most biased person in the room.
That’s where you come in.
If Sacrimony has meant something to you, I would be incredibly grateful if you’d help spread the word about the Zelda nominations or the comic in general, share the voting link, post about it on social media and say a few kind words about the story and what it’s meant to you. Personal recommendations carry more weight than anything I could ever write about my own work.
Word of mouth has always been the most powerful force behind indie comics. And if this story is going to reach further, it won’t be because I shouted the loudest, it’ll be because readers chose to lift it up.
If you’d like to vote, you can do so here: https://www.izivote.com/v/the-zelda-awards-8jd0yw
(You can vote until March 15.)
And while we’re looking ahead, I’d also love for you to follow the upcoming campaign for Sacrimony #9 so you don’t miss when it launches: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/msorcier/sacrimony-1-9
Thank you for walking this road with me. Thank you for believing in this strange, complicated story, and thank you for helping me give it the best chance possible to find the audience it deserves.
We’re building this together. 🖤
Talk soon.

I agree it’s easier to rise when we rise together!
It would be useful if there was some kind of explanation as to how to vote on the voting site. I had to blunder around until I discovered how to do it almost by accident.
