Let's help Snowflake get a second chance at life!

Hi there,

I know this isn’t my usual Friday newsletter, but something’s come up! For those who have been with me for a while, you know I’ve been pretty active in helping out my neighborhood cats whenever I can.

This is Snowflake. He’s a really sweet boy and has had a rough life so far.

For the longest time, I’ve tried to get help for poor Snowflake, who was abused by my next door neighbors. They “used him to catch rats”, mistreated him and then threw him out when he was no longer useful. He’s been living on the streets for the past few months, begging and crying for people to let him into their homes and feed him. I’ve done what I can in terms of feeding him, but Muffin doesn’t get along with adult cats (only kittens) so I can’t take him in.

Shelters, vets and rescues in NY have all been disappointing. The wait time to get a homeless cat neutered is anywhere between 12-36 months and most regular vets will not see a cat who is technically a “stray” and has been out on the streets for a while. BUT a friend in New Jersey has stepped up and offered to take Snowflake for a neuter, medical exams, vaccines and necessary treatment THIS WEEK!

The downside is, that’s going to cost a bit of money. At the bare minimum, it’s going to be at least $300 for the surgery, vaccines and any meds he might need (for fleas and ear mites and such).

I started a GoFundMe, because the cost is more than I can handle at the moment but I’d be willing to put myself in a bit of debt just to help him out. But if you’d like to help here’s the link. Even something small like $5 or $10 would be a huge help.

The cool part is that if he gets a clean bill of health and is FIV-free, I’m going to take him to a cat cafe in Upstate NY next week, where he will be gainfully employed and eventually find a loving home.
